About MyWorkCalc

MyWorkCalc is a free collection of calculators built for hourly workers, employers, and contractors who need accurate, fast answers to everyday work math.

Who It's For

What We Build

Every calculator on this site is designed to be genuinely useful — not just a two-field form, but a tool that handles real-world complexity: break deductions, overnight shifts, biweekly pay periods, FLSA overtime rules, labor burden components, and contractor markup vs margin.

All calculations run entirely in your browser. We never collect, store, or transmit the numbers you enter.

How We Build Our Calculators

  1. Each calculator solves one specific practical problem — we don't combine unrelated calculations into a single tool.
  2. Inputs reflect real-world scenarios, not just simplified textbook examples.
  3. Every calculation is explained with its formula and a worked example, so you can verify the result yourself.
  4. Assumptions are documented clearly on each page — especially for tax-adjacent topics like overtime, labor burden, and worker classification.
  5. Tools are reviewed when common practices, rates, or regulations change.

Our Tools

A Note on Accuracy

Our calculators follow federal FLSA rules for overtime, standard payroll accounting conventions, and established contractor pricing formulas. For state-specific rules (California daily overtime, for example), we document the assumptions used and note where rules vary.

All tools are intended for estimation and planning. They are not legal, tax, accounting, payroll, or financial advice. For complex situations — worker classification, multi-state payroll, commission structures, or benefit plan design — consult a qualified professional.
