Hourly to Salary Calculator

Enter your hourly rate, hours per week, and weeks per year to see your equivalent annual, monthly, biweekly, and weekly gross pay.

All figures are gross (pre-tax) estimates based on the hours and weeks entered.

How the Conversion Works

The calculator multiplies your hourly rate by hours per week to get weekly pay, then multiplies by weeks per year to get annual salary. All other periods are derived from the annual figure. The default is 40 hours/week and 52 weeks/year — adjust these if you work a different schedule or take unpaid weeks off.

Formula

Annual = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week × Weeks per Year

Monthly = Annual ÷ 12

Semi-Monthly = Annual ÷ 24

Biweekly = Annual ÷ 26

Weekly = Hourly Rate × Hours per Week

Daily = Weekly ÷ 5

Worked Example

$22/hr, 40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year:

  • Annual: $22 × 40 × 52 = $45,760
  • Monthly: $45,760 ÷ 12 = $3,813.33
  • Biweekly: $45,760 ÷ 26 = $1,760.00
  • Weekly: $22 × 40 = $880.00

Assumptions

All figures are gross (before tax) estimates. Actual take-home pay depends on federal and state income tax, FICA contributions, health insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and other deductions. The daily rate assumes a 5-day workweek.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don't work 52 weeks per year?

Adjust the “Weeks per Year” field to match your actual schedule. For example, if you take two weeks of unpaid leave, use 50 weeks.

What's the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly?

Biweekly = paid every two weeks, 26 checks per year. Semi-monthly = paid twice a month on fixed dates, 24 checks per year. The biweekly check is slightly smaller; there are 2 extra checks per year.

Does this include overtime?

No — this calculator assumes a straight hourly rate across all hours entered. For overtime calculations, use the Overtime Pay Calculator.
